do boxfish have a toxin that is a defence?
the reason i asked is i work part time in a lfs and i sold a beutifull blue boxfish and about 1 hour later the guy called me up and told me it was dead.
I gave him a refund of corse. :confused:

I used to have a cowfish in my tank until it tragically perished in an ick outbreak. It never released any toxin, or at least nothing that killed anything in my tank. But, I had read that they were supposed to.
So I guess I read that they do have toxins (at least the cowfish), but mine did not seem to.

Boxfish will and can release a lethal toxin when either stressed, ill, or ready to die. I do not recommend a boxfish in anything other then a species tank.
