But I don't want what they give, so why should I work? I already have a clock radio, why do I need to waste several weeks selling something for the benefit of a company?
I do have a job and I have never complained about the pay. It seems as though the general consensus is that we aren't payed enough. Don't trash my generation and realize that this was created for fun. Also, realize that this random string of letters means nothing: "noone."
Selling the popcorn is NOT ABOUT YOU!!! You are a part of a group and as a whole you are selling popcorn to raise money for your troop. In all reality they should not need to give out prizes. The incentive is to bring money in to fund what your troop wants to do.

I refuse to buy the BS popcorn or GS cookies...
I think its horrible these two groups pimp out kids to raise money..
When I was in T-ball and such we would have bowl a thons to raise money for the fields and uniforms and whatever. We would hit up people to sponsor us for say .10 for every pin. That is no different then selling popcorn or cookies and it is all for a good cause.

Over and over you people are missing my point. I'm talking about cub scouts and not boyscouts, don't forget that. Our troop doesn't sell popcorn, but our pack in cubscouts did. Most of the profit went to trails end, a little bit went to our crappy prizes.

You do not have your facts straight. In most cases the company that supplies the item gets little profit. In some cases they take NO profit.

correct, they get the advertising and tax write off for charitable donations to make up for the popcorn.
