Brackish water to Salt Water.

I have a friend who has a 10 gallon Brackish water tank with a spotted green puffer. He told me that he wanted to make it a salt water tank. He wanted to put a small goby in it. I really didn't know how much to change the salinity in his tank. How slow should he add more salt? How much salt should he add in per gallon? And should he make it 100% saltwater? I keep mine at 1.025, and I add in 1 cup of salt per 2 gallons. Is that the ratio that he should be at once he is done with his transition? Thanks for your help!

Do you know what salinity the tank is at right now? I would make some water to top off the tank with at the salinity I want and slowly over time top off the tank increasing the salinity. The slower he does it the better for the fish. My spotted green puffer is at a salinity of 1.024. I would do water changes with the same salinity that is in the tank now or only very, very slightly increased. Make sure he keeps a close eye on the salinity so it doesn't raise it too high and can switch back to FW top offs when the time comes

I didn't really do it the "right" way, but would if I had it to do over. So far he is still happy, dances for me and eats like a piggy

What were you feeing him before? I was wondering if my friend will have to switch what he feed is. Right now he said he is feeding it frozen blood worms. I was wondering if they would eat mysis shrimp?

He eats mysis, marine cuisine, whatever. I had no problem, he ate it the first time I gave it to him. Have him buy some mysis and start giving it now to see if he will eat it. I need to try and find some really small snails for him

Alright awesome. Today his goal is to have the sg at 1.020. I'll keep you posted.
