Brain coral issue... this can't be good.

I recently bought a green brain lobo from this site. It has been secreting a clear mucous substance for about a week (as long as i've had it). I did a water change today to get my trates down (they were around 20 yesterday). Several hours later I notice several holes in the body of the coral, some of which secreting this brown poo looking stuff. Any idea what that is/ is it bad/can i fix it?
I have T5's: 2x 56 10,000k, 2x 56 actinic.
Salinity 1.024
pH 8.3
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 10
Calcium: dunno but I have been adding according to directions

Well, today the holes are gone... so maybe that was the coral pooping. It just didn't look quite like the pictures i've seen of that before. Input is still appreciated.

i had one of those before. unfortunately it died. i bought it before i knew better. my lighting wasn't sufficient and my nitrates were also in the 60+ area. scary i know. anyways. when it was alive, it would oven up a little like that with the holes to feed and poop. they would later close and it was fine. it lasted like that for about a week until one day the holes started opening bigger and bigger until they reached the sides of the coral. eventually, there was no colorful membrane left in the middle, only the spiney skeleton. at that point it was completely dead. i still have the skeleton in my sump though acting as a piece of $40 live rock. like i said though, as long as they don't open up really big, its prob just eating or pooping.
