I had mine in a 55 with 260w of PC's. They need to be on the sand I believe.

what kind of brain? open brain has relatively short stingers and they only come out at night and during feeding. I'm not aware of any brain corals with long stingers. moderate light is okay for most brain coral. More is probably better since they are usually placed on the bottom.

You put them in your substrate the will not effect any other corals, the need mod. light and mod. flow you also should feed them about 2-3 times a week. Hears mine.

Yes they do but are very small on the inner rim of their structure. Both of my closed brains usually have their tentacles exposed throughout the day and I generally feed all my corals DT's 3 times a week (mon, wed, fri). They are kept on the sand bed in my tank along with an open brain I have. The reason for keeping them on the sand bed (more so for a closed brain) is to avoid of from them ripping their own flesh when they expand.

They like meaty food, silversides, shrimp ect. mine in the pic is recovering from poor water quality (the tank I got it from), it has three mouths that put clear tentacles out when the lights are out. I use a halfed plastic soda bottle and feed thru the top. Cool to watch them eat. ***)
