Brain Coral

I was thinking of purchasing a brain coral. So it's research time. Are they difficult to keep? Is there any tricks to keeping them? Is an open Brain more difficult than a closed or are they the same? Anyone's experiences would be helpful.
Thanks...

Generally speaking, I believe that they are both relatively easy to keep. I do believe that the open brain needs more attention as far as feeding. I have never had a closed brain, and I am only assuming that they are mostly photosynthetic feeders. The open brain has a mouth to feed meaty foods and has short feeder tentacles which come out at night to catch anything floating by.
They both however need a good amount of light. Best kept on the sand bed.

I have a CC base. Can I keep them directly on the CC or will that damage it? Will the feeder tentacles catch other fish I have in my tank?

Thank you everyone. Now, how do I pick out a healty one?
The LFS has some that are green and red. What other colors are out there?

Here is my open brain...

I tried something different with his location, not in the sand. I think I like them better in the sand, my space is limited!

here is a pic of our meat brain, hes about 6" across, very big, and loves lots of food, hes a pig, gets feed 2x a week, we feed him a chunk of squid or shrimp, and he gobbles it down fast, there very cool.
