branching porites Placement?

i am picking up a yellow porite after work today. i have a great spot for it about midway up in the tank almost right under my 150 hqi. Is this going to be OK or should it be higher in the tank.

it should be fine there. if it ever starts to change color, move it! but midway under a 150 hqi should be fine!

do you mean change color as in "Browning"

under teh 150 hqi's you should see no color change at all...i wouldnt worry about browning!

Make sure you also find a location with strong amounts of current.

You may want to start it a little lower. Bear in mind the light from where you are buying it from. 2 or 3 vhos at the lfs can't compete with a metal halide and whatever else you have running.
