Brand new ensign

This is my first atemped at a slat water tank I want some feed back on how I am doing.
I have a 100 gallon tank with a ball filtation system in the back. Lights on 12 hours a day.

you got yourself a nice cycle going there!
When you say "algae forming on the bottom of the tank", do you mean on your substrate, or do you not have substrate?
How much LR do you have?
Everything looks good so far!

I don't know what substrate is, but the algae is growing on the dead coral and what is LR?

substrate is whats on the bottom of the tank.ie: ls-live sand or cc:crushed coral and lr would be for live rock,rock that has been cycled and is hosting its own colonies of the helpful bacteria.
