the 75 gallon is so pricey because of the full hood you want for it! The stand, tank, and get one of those glass lid thingies that run about $40 compared to the estimated $170 for the full hood. With the glass, you can easily create your own lighting system! for way under the price of a full hood. I guarantee that you wont want the light that comes with the hood in a while, and u will want to upgrade it.. start off by buying what u want.. price is an issue, but so are fixing the bugs u create with a budget! The more you get now, the less you will need in the future! I just picked up a 75 gallon and did not get the lid due to the price! same price for tank as lid.. come on now! thats overkill. Draw the system out and let her know what u will need/want. Then compromise a little but not much.. quality in = quality out!
