Hey guys...I need some help.. First of all my husband and I are helping to close a rest. that has a salt water tank. The tank and everything except for the fish and coral will be sold with the rest. Now I am gonna have to take the coral and prob. most of the fish or at least the ones I have room for. Here is the problem I don't know alot about corals. My 75 gal has a huma and a lion in it so what if anything could I put in there...or would I have to get rid of my huma to do this. There are colts, mushrooms, brain corals, bubble tips, clams, plate corals jsut to name a few. I do however have a 20 gallon that I have my seahorses in..could I put these corals in there with them. I also have a 10 gal that is a qt and a 5 gallon that is in my daughters room. Should I just move these corals throughout the 4 tanks or what? Man this has been a

. I can't get the lfs here to take any of theses things and I don't wan them to die because they are gorgeous. I did notice in the tank there is a lot of hair algae and some cyano growing on the sand. What do I do to treat for these things.
I do have plans to use some of the LR but again it is covered in hair algae. I mean if I can't keep all this then I won't but it just seems hard to let it go and die off....please help if you can.
the fish in the tanks are....1 maroon clown
1 bangaii cardinal
1 flamehawk
1wrasse of somesort
1 blue damsel
1 coral beauty

itchy are your horses cb, or wc? i think youd be fine putting some of them in the horse tank. javajoe has a horse in his 75 reef and its doing fine, so you should be ok!
good luck

Jon I have both WC and CB horses. I want to move them to my 75 gallon and get rid of my huma but I just can't part with him. so they are in a 20 gal hex. I just thought I could put some corals in with the Horses but don't wanna cause a prob with them as they are my babies....I have 6 and they are all doing so well.

Hi itchy !!
Sounds like a nice opportunity to pick up some cool free animals AND save them from an ultimate doom.
Which of your tanks has the very best water quality and which tank has the best lighting ?
I've never kept a trigger or lionfish - so I don't know much about compatibility.
I do keep corals though - and water quality/lighting are the top two things to meet ~ for long term invert/coral success.
I wouldn't "treat" the corals for any cyno. If YOUR water quality is decent - that should not be a concern.
The live rock - you may want to scrub it with a clean toothbrush - the place it in a large 30 gallon Rubbermaid container or trashcan full of saltwater. Curing it with low light and goo circulation for several weeks - may kill off the green - and leave you with something worth keeping.
Is this a restaraunt ?
A rest home ?
A rest room ? LOL :p

Hi Broomer....
Thanks for the info....this is a restaurant that is closing. Can't give to much info incase anyone from Lex is online. As it is hush hush right now.
I would diffently have to upgrade lighting but my water quality is excellent. Yeah it is a nice opp. for me to get my hands into some corals with out spending alot of money. I just dont know what will happen to all the fish and coral if I don't try to take them in.
I guess I will try and see what happens... Thanks
