A book titled Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson is an excellent starting point if you want to breed & raise Clownfish.

Very good book , it is orange in color, and has a pair of clowns on it. When you read this book you will have a great understanding of clownfish in general.

acctually I just realized I have 2 "Clownfishes" books.... the oprange one mentioned above is written by Gregory Skomal. and the title is "CLOWNFISHES in the aquarium"
Second one is the one Bang mentioned, "CLOWNFISHES - A guide to their captive care & natural history" by Joyce D. Wilkerson.... this one is acctually green because of the bulb tentacle see anemone with a pair of Maroon clowns. Tis book has much more info.
Both books have good info though.... probably not necassary to pick up both of them. Joyces book is stacked with info.
It is about 223 pages long to the start of Sources Contacts and Resources.
5 chapters dedicated to breeding totaling about 115 pages, more than half the book.

I was looking for an answer to a question that somebody else had ... and while trying to find this answer i realize that the book by Gregory Skomat has a better Disease section. So this book also has its own percs...
O "I said Percs" ceanists

Hey Bang, to continue my thoughts here in a more appropriate thread, I would have thought that the females were the ones that went black. My theory is shot to heck :notsure: I still say try to keep about 5 or so of the red ones for a year (long enough to make sure they stay red) then let your female pick a mate from them. I think the pair you have look real cool anyway.

I have had quite a bit of success breeding clowns. It's a lot of work and everything has to be just right. I am looking for more breeding pairs of clowns. If anyone has any that they would be willing to part with let me know and we can work something out. I live in NY and I would prefer to pick them up, but I would also be willing to pay shipping. Thanks.
