looked into my 12 gallon aquapod about 5 minutes ago and noticed that a female blue leg hermit was releasing hundreds of babies into the water!! yay...food for my corals and fish
do blueleg hermits readily reproduce in captivity???

i dont even know how i would get any to survive
they start out life in a planktonic state and just kinda float around. they kinda resemble small clearish white shrimp....infact that what i thought they were until i saw the female crab actually come 1/2 way out of her shell and release more young into the water! now they are everywhere!!! there has to be over a thousand!! i sucked a few up and tried to get some pics with my phone but i didnt have any luck. they are too small.

thanks....im not even gonna try to raise any now. i dont have a spare tank, time, money, or info hahaha. my corals are liking the feast though. i actually think this happened to me once before about 6 months ago.....i saw many white things floating in the water but when i looked close i thought they were some sort of free floating shrimp. i figured they came from the lr or something. i know these are def. hermits cause i witnessed the female releasing them. i thought it was pretty neat.
