breeding nassarius snails

how does this work? has anyone had baby nassarius snails live?mine lay eggs all day every day but i never see any babies. i just assumed that they were getting eaten.

A lot of people have claimed it but I've never actually seen proof. Most of the people think those brown Mud Snails are Nassarius. The Mud snails will reproduce readily though.

those are whelks arent they? or the "nassarius snails" that this site sells? cause i should have clarified, those are the ones i have, not the white ones.

Technically, yes but technically speaking Nassarius are also classified as Whelks.
I believe this site sells both types under the name Nassarius. The mud snails I refer to are actually Ilyanassa obsoleta. Ilyanassa sp. will reproduce easily in a home aquarium. Nassarius vibex is much more difficult.
The easiest way to tell them apart is Ilyanassa will eat algae, Nassarius cannot eat algae and will starve without a steady supply of carrion.
