This coral has not been doing well... It has green hair algea and red slime growing on the mat and its choking it out. How can i get this algea off it?
It only has a feww heads still comming out and ive tried blowing it off with a bastor but it doesnt come off that way

I don't know how to save the coral...but you must have high phosphates, which is why you have hair algae and cyano...what kind of water are you using?

I use my tap water (well water), but ive been using it for as long as ive had my tank and i havnt had any other problems with algea except on this coral. I dont think its phosphates because it would be growing in patches that think everywhere in my tank and only spot i am seeing that type of algea growth is on that coral, even look on the rock i put the coral on in the pic (its been on that rock almost since ive had it)

I suggest putting in almost direct path with a power head for a while. The gorg will survive this, it will blow the cyano off and possible and loose detritus that has accumulated on the rock. Also if you could cut some of the mat off and attach it to another rock that would help possibly having one or the other or maybe both survive.

So you have NO algae in your tank .. EXCEPT....for what is on that coral???? Then pick it off the coral...
what did the coral look like when you got it?

You should at least see the cyano lifting off after an hour or so. Not blowing right on it, but right by it, off to the side a tad so that it is getting good flow over it. But don't be afraid to peel a piece of the mat of to attach elsewhere.

I have other algea, but its not as thick as it is on the coral.

This was taken a few hours afer i put it in my tank so it still had some close polyps.
And ill try the powerhead thing for a but and see how that works

The red algea is bubble algea, after i got the green stuff off, there were little red bubbles underneath it so will the powerhead still work.. for that

I took it away from the powerhead because it looks like whatever is left on there is stuck on there (it was in the way of the powerhead for an hour and a half). So, now what, it just has the red bubble algea on it and these little white tree looking things.
