Bristle Pests?

:notsure: Anyone have a easy solution for getting bristle worms out of the sponge filters in my bak-pak skimmer?
I have only had it installed for a couple weeks, but I noticed a lot of these lil critters in the sponges and when I cleaned it today, I had a heck of a time getting them to vacate the foam so I could reasemble it.
I hope the numbers of these things lessen, I know they are good for the tank but I never noticed them swimming around, so ,why so many in the skimmer?

Are you sure they are bristle worms? I am surprised they ended up in a skimmer also. Do you like your bakpak, I was lookin to buy one for a 20 gal.

I'm sure they are bristle worms, and I asume they were stirred up when the skimmer was activated and also from water changes, I was just surprized at the number of them and was having a hard time getting them out of the foam filters.
Yes I do like this skimmer, I have only had it a short time but i was impressed at the ease of setting it up. You just plug it in! Adjust the height of the collection cup as needed, it even tells you when you need to top off your tank, it makes a slurpping noise then when you top off your watter it's happy again. My fish have even taken a liking to it, they like like the increaseed water flo to play in.

Thanks for the input on the skimmer. I wonder if you just set the pad out for a while they would crawl out on their own. Good luck.
