I agree that they are good to have but if you really want to get him out look around in pet stores, they sell bristle worm traps that get out the small ones. The larger ones are a bit harder to get out.

If you have caught them and want to get rid of them, 3/4 of the people on this site might be willing to pay the shipping cost and more to get them. I know that I would for any under 4". Traps may be the easiest way to catch them. I really would recommend keeping them yourself.

If you read this in an old book, buy a new book. They are now making new improved bristle worms that aren't a problem at all ;) !
Just kidding. The worms haven't changed, just the opinion of their benefit to the tank. Follow these links and make your own decision:

# 1 RULW though is not to handle them w/ bare hands...they will sting; which may or may not be mild in nature

I agree with most people that bristle worms are a benefit to our tanks: with that said, beware that there are some that develope taste for things we want to keep. One morning last week I peered into my tank, and saw a bristle worm munching on one of my shrooms. This worm was about threee inches long, and about as big around as a pencil. He was fully exposed so I took my handy plastic tongs and grabbed him, I then took him outside and fed him to one of my many "pet" fire-ant mounds. I have many of these worms in my tank, and I still think they're a great benefit. Unless you have one that's a renegade, like the one I had, I'd really suggest that you leave them.
