Bristleworm

I just noticed a new inhabitant in my live rock. A 2-3" worm inch red w/white spines. I am not overly concerned, but everyday something new sprouts outs. What fish or crabs, etc can I add to control the worms.

I had them, and purchased an arrow crab to help.
The stupid thing would sit right over top of the worm and do nothing(I think they might have even been drinking buddies) I have left most of my small worms to help with the cleanup. the bigger ones I try to remove by hand. You have to watch them though I had a bunch in one my corals and they were eating the thing like crazy.
So the moral- don't waste your money on the arrow crab. Get a wrasse if your tank can support it.

yuk, yuk, yuk! I just turned a piece of LR on it's side because I've got a feather duster in there building a new tube and I don't want my brittle star in there and I saw 3 or 4 little bristle worms, no telling how many I actually have. I wish they'd get out from under that rock and get busy cleaning! At least I didn't get stung.

Thanks for the info. Feel much better about them. It's amazing the variety of life, and little surprises, that come out of that LR!

Valparaiso is just N of Destin along Northwest Florida's beautiful Gulf beaches. Midway between Pensacola and Panama City.
