Hay you all, I found a Bristleworm last night crawing from Underneath one of my liverock and when I tryed to get him he went up in the rock. Can some one tell what is the best way to get him, and also will he hurt anything If I leave him alone?
Thanks Spider9376

I just spoke to one of my friends and he said that a Bristleworm killed his clam in his reef tank.!!!
Clam prolly died, then worm ate on it.
If it looks like this one just leave it be. It is a beneficial detritovore.

Bristleworms are not murderers (haha it sounds funny saying that). Bristleworms are primarily cleanup crew members, they eat dead animals and eat detritus. More likely than not, the animal it was observed eating was either dead/dying/or in a weak enough state for the bristleworm to kill it with very little effort (this requires the animal to be in a very weak state).
Keep in mind, there are some species of bristleworms that will eat corals, commonly referred to as fire worms. Out of the vast majority of bristleworm-type creatures, fire worms make up a very small portion of it.
Just forget about him IMHO, Im surey oull see him again trying to get leftovers. In some cases, fish may also eat them, even corals :) Best of luck to you all

i've had many bristleworms in many tanks, and i bnever saw one do anything to a healthy specimen. if the thing was dying...that's a different story.
bristleworms are good and help you keep your tank clean. if they are large, you are overfeeding. cut back on the feeding, and you'll see less worms.
