Just jokes. However, you won't really be able to keep tabs on the population. They really produce...or die...relative to the amount of food in the tank...I guess it may be possible, but if you are able to fine tune your feeding habits to that degree...we are back to a character issue

Perhaps it's a morals thing? He likes what they do as far as cleaning the tank, but hates them for their 'loose' behavior?

I think a good reason to hate them is getting stung when you're trying to work in your tank. They also look terrible. I'd rather have a cucumber, pods, tiny britle starfish cleaning up the detritus.
