Brittle Star broke all its legs by itself

I just got the brittle star from this place and soon after I put it in it broke all its legs into pieces and now its got no legs and dead any idea why? Also my yellow polys are turning brown and shrinking but the button polys and mushroom are ok. thx for helping out.

I had a Sand Sifter that did the same thing, Had him 2 days and legs came off. This was 1 day before I noticed my fish becoming sick. THIS LED TO HLLE. I tested water a day before I got the star, and all was good. But all hell broke loose after that. I figured out that the cause of the HLLE was more than likely me changing Filters and removing Air stones. Everything is great now, back to old setup. So maybe something in Waterville isnt good, or a sign of something to come.

HLLE is HEAD AND LATERAL LINE EROSION, or Lateral Line Disease.
I hope you dont get it either......

Check your PH. My brittle star tore off one of it's legs.. Then I did some research and found out this is common if the pH drops below 8.0
