brittle star problem

I have a all glass tank with one corner overflow that is notched at the top and bottom. My problem is my little brittle star somehow climbes in through the bottom slots and all I can see is his srms hanging out. I should just leave him I know but just incase what should I do if he dies in there I won't be able to get him out.

If you dangle a piece of shrimp or squid in front of him, I bet he will come out. As for keeping him out of the intake, maybe you can attach a peice of fiberglass screen in front of the holes.
Its worth a try.
