broke my monti cap

so i was doin some cleaning on my tank yesterday and barely brushed against my monti cap and it broke a piece off and when it fell it broke in two pieces about as big as a half dollar. so i got out my epoxy and put them back in 2 different spots, but when i did i had to smush the epoxy to the cap, so where i touched it turned a grayish color (only where i touched it) you can see my thumb print right on it

my question is will it ever get its color back there? or will it just grow new and that spot will always be dead looking?

It will ether overgrow that spot or come back from the damage.

I have done something similar in the past. It will get its color back in about a week or so.

thanks for all the quick replies i was worried at first but i guess nbow i have 3 orange caps lol!
