Brooklynella - Lifeguard Work?

Hello Everyone -
I have four clownfish in a QT tank. They have been in QT for 5 days now and appear to have Brooklynella. I searched today at the LFS for formalin but none have heard of it or stock it.
I found a product called Lifeguard by Instant Ocean. It supposedly treats a broad range of disease. Has anyone used it? Am I better off returning it and ordering formalin online?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

No, that won't work. Look for products at the LFS that have formaldehyde.

Can Formalin be used in conjuction with Hyposalinity?
Does everyone agree ith 2 drops per gallon per the instructions?

from what i have read formalin comes with an arrary of warnings regarding temperature, oxygen levels and other factors to be considered durning its use why not just use it as a dip and not an on going treatment

I tried the 20 drop per gallon Formalin dip recommended on this board on a couple of small clowns and it was just as if I had placed them in a pot of boiling water and this was for only a couple minutes (both died later that evening). I read on another board that you need to aerate the dip for over an hour before placing the fish in the dip (did not see this mentioned here). Anyhow, if you have tried a formaldehyde dip and it worked please tell me how you did it. The instructions on the bottle of Formalin call for 2 drops per gallon for an entire tank but no mention of how much to use if using it for a dip. Thanks in advance.

The 2 drop per gallon is correct for Formalin bath, but you need to make sure you leave them in there for max 45 minutes. Also, you need to have somekind of water aeration during the deep. You don't need to aerate it for 1 hour before, just while the fish in there. However, please prepare the bath and aeration before you dip the fish. I did it on mine and they are alive after the bath and many days after.
The problem is Formalin doesn't cure the disease right away. The other product that I mentioned on my earlier post works out better for me.
Again, I am not saying that Formalin does not work.

AS per dosing chart on AP pro brand formalin ONE DROP PER GALLON

formalin is a 37% mix of formaldehyde
