Can you tell me what the intial symptoms of Brooklynella are? Thank you!

Heavy breathing would be a symptom, darting. Take a look at the pics of fish in the Diseased Fish thread stickied at the top of this forum. You will see some examples of brook there. If your fish have this, you MUST treat immeidately or risk loosing your fish quickly. The treatment is outlined in the FAQ Thread.

Hi Beth,
No heavy breathing or darting. I have also looked at the pics in the Diseased Fish thread and it seems to be a false alarm. I am just being safer than sorry. I thought I noticed her swimming with that "slouch", tail down head up, but I guess I have just never before noticed her swimming that way. She definately does not show any signs of heavy breathing or darting. In the pics there also seems to be a discoloration or white slime/glaze on the fish and she definately does not have any of that. She enjoys wiggling in her BTA and she still eating healthy. Thanks for the precautionary heads up!
