Brown Algae problem

I recently bought a tank that was setup and transported it to my place...taking the cycled water and sand out and refilling it once home. I now have a brown algae problem and was wondering if it was from the sand being stirred up? Been a while since I ran one of these and help would be appreciated. How do I get rid of it?

It's diatoms, it happen to use when we bought our tanks from someone else. It'll go away eventually, I usually siphon it out during water change. It took ours about 2 months to go away. What type of water are you using? :happyfish

just leave it alone. After the cleanup crew gets added, they will eat it all up.I went through it as well, and was scratching my head as how to rid myself of it.Mexican turbo snails, astria snails, and ro water did the trick for me.Took about 2 weeks.
Here is a somewhat shoddy pic of a diatom infested rock, and a turbo snail. diatom eater

I hope it's dead rock your washing in hot water. You'll get diatoms with a new tank. We had it first when we got the tank and it was a established tank. But tap water was being used at the beginning. It'll eventually go away on it's own, get some powerheads, it'll help. I usually siphon the stuffs out during water change. My clean up crew did the rest. :happyfish
