Everything in my tank has brown algae on it and I have read and heard conflicting things about it. Am I to leave it or clean it off. I am in the later part of my tank cycling. Any help is appreciated.
Clean it off and rinse out any filters that you have to remove the spores. Keep doing this until things stabilize. It could take a few weeks sometimes. Also, invest in a clean-up crew; turbo snails, blue-legged crabs, naris. snails, etc.
I would suggest water changes for the moment and then wait til the cycle has finished and add a small clean up crew. However you can add some cleanups to your tank right now, but it's no guarantee that they will make it through the cycle.
dont do a water change untill your tank is done cycling it could cause your tank to cycle longer are you running your lights now if so just cut back on the time you leave them on.once your done cycling then add a good clean up crew.:joy:
