Brown Algae??

I'm new to this hobby, and I have had my tank setup for about 3 weeks now, I have about 110 pounds of base rock on my 72 gal tank, just started to see some green algae on the rocks but today I notice brown spots on the rocks and on my sand what is this?? is this OK, should I worry??

diatoms. A common occurence in new tanks that use tap water. They come in via the tap water. A normal thing for tap water users. Dont harm anything. Once you put in a clean up crew, it will give them something to eat too.

Very common in new tanks, even ones that use RO/DI water. If possible cut your lighting period in half and ride them out.
