brown algea help

I wiped all the glass down and then cleaned gravel. Water change and then wet skim. You can give fish less food, and reduce light.
This is what I been trying. Im new to salt, Im sure someone else will reply.

Few questions:
What is your source water? What is your internal flow rates? What is your protein skimmer? What is your protein skimmer rated for? What kind of equipment are you using? Do you have a refugium?
Any kind of algae is a sign of excess nutrience in your aquarium. Performing water changes, skimming out skimmate, having a macro-algae to "soak up" some of the nutrience is all beneficial to the system. Also, you might want to try running some phosphate removing media. Good luck!

Reduce your lighting time, feed less. if you have a skimmer use it. replace your filter sponges. do a 30 percent water change today, then a 20 percent the next day, followed by 10 percent water changes the next three days.
