brown spots

i am having brown spots on the side of my walls grow n i think they are diatoms??? i think??
if some one can tell me what it is and how to rid of them that would b great...

sounds like diatoms to me if its a new tank it will go though this stage and will grow out of it. Just let it run its course.

should i hav my normal amount of lighting or none or what???
and should i wipe down the sides on my tank to clean the sides???

Yep, I would just run the lights as normal and ensure good water quality.
You can wipe down the sides. That is your personal preference.
