BTA and Coral

My BTA has just "wandered" near some Zoos. What techniques are out there to get him loose from the LR and away from my Zoos. The BTA is touching them now.....or is this harmless?
Thanks,
Bear

Definitely not harmless. You can direct a powerhead near the anemone to irritate him into moving, but do not try to pry him off. This is probably a stupid question, but can you move the zoos? Or, can you put some sort of plastic over top of the zoos to keep the anemone from touching them?

Are the zoas stressed? If not you may be able to keep it there. I only say this because my BTA split and for about 10-14days now it is attached to the back of my dome brain and no ill effects as of yet. I watch it, but so far everything is ok. From what I have been told my Murph, the BTA is the least potent of all the anemones as far as their sting. So far he is correct.

Now, that's what I wanted to hear! I'll keep an eye on them. I'm assuming a stressed coral will be pretty obvious. i.e., closed up, secretion, etc.

Did you just say "rat spit"? That's awesome!

A question to add to yours... does the BTA sting automatically when touched or does it just release it's stinging stuff when it's aggravated?

My rbta will occasionaly move near or will be touching some of my corals. I just shoot the powerhead at him and he moves very quickly. He does not like direct flow at all. This has wored for me everytime.

Update: today is 9-25-07 and the anemone is still in the same place, and the coral doing great, in fact I fed it tonight. (the coral) I would say no harm done.
