our bta was doing really really well, good colour and always out, but the last few days hasnt looked so good. it went for a long walk around to the back of the tank and then started sliming up quite bad. today she dropped off the rock all together. i just cleaned her up a bit and put her into her cave that she used to liek but wonder whats up with her? all our water parameters are bang on but we do have a pretty bad algae outbreak and our water is cloudy. would that be ticking her off? i know when they are pissed they will wander to find a better spot but not attaching to the rock at all seems bad.

YES...bad water quality will make a BTA very unhappy....
also, what type of lighting do you have?

160 watts of t5 on a 30g.
the water defin has a murky, cloudy look to it but my paramenters are fine. frustrating cus i dont know what to do to fix it, its almost like there is water quality where your parameters are fine and then water happiness where. thats a dumb thing to say but maybe you get my meaning.
i have a fluval filter with nothing in it but liverock that i recently added a bag of phosban to (at the proper dose) and wonder if thats bothering it.

You can try running carbon to clear your water.....There has to be some reason it's cloudy....IDK anything about phosban....are you having a phosphate issue??

yes and no. we have lots of algae and im told often you wont get detectable phosphates from your tests cus the algae is sucking it up so quick. the phosban is supposed to get the phosphates before the algae does and starve the algae.
