BTA Question

I have a BTA that I just got yesterday from my lfs. I thought he looked like crap at the LFS, but they said it was b/c they didn't have the lights on...which stupid me believed! So I brought him home and acclimated him and put him in my tank. A few hours later all his tenacles were drawn in and he was pooping. After he finished doing his business, his mouth was wide open and hanging and he was all drawn up. I don't know what to do with him. When the lights are off his mouth is a little tighter and he opens up some, but when the lights are on his mouth sags and he drawns in. Any suggestions??

He could be just getting acclimated to his new surroundings. You can get a BTA with std PC's FYI but your MH's are perfect. He was shriveled because he was expelling waste that is common. If he stays shriveled for more than 3 days I would suspect something is up. Keeping a close eye on it is key, when these guys go south its BAD and it can happen fast. Anenomes are a tough read, where you think there is something wrong they could of been finished eating a large meal, or expelling waste, or even starting to split. It should want to eat every 3 days or so and its tenticles should be tacky. These indicate a healthy anenome no matter what its physical appearance may look like at the time. Good Luck
The other part of this whole equation is water quality. Prestine in all ways, no elements of Nitrates, amonia Ph is up, temp doesnt fluctuate a lot from night to day, and your specific gravity is around 1.024.
