i have a bta, it seems to be doing great. my question is, that when i try to feed him silversides, he pulls away and will not take to anything. i do have a maroon clown hosting him. is the clown feeding him enough to keep him full?

Do you see the anemone eat when the clown feeds it ?? It may not be hungry. You could try choping the food into smaller bits and gently swishing the bits into the tenticals....

i sometimes put shrimp pellets directly onto him. if anything i put next to his tentacles, he pulls away and will not sting it. i haven't fed him in about 2 weeks, so i am assuming my clown is doing a good job.

Try and place the food deep into the tenticals with a feeding stick of tongs....Hold it there a little while if needed and see what happens.

My BTA doesn't like silversides. It will eat my homemade fish food. also likes brine shrimp, Krill, Mysis shrimp. I don't always spot feed either. The clowns take peices from the cubes and gives to the anemone.

haha. My clowns steal food from my anemone, stupid clowns....I think they think they are cleaning it. They dont eat the food just swim away from the anemone and split it out...

my clown is kinda dumb too, sometimes from my homemade fish food, a large (but large enough chunk for the anemone) will drif towards him. HE grabs it and brings it to the anemone, then he gets impatient and moves the food around trying to get the anemone to move faster, all the whule chasing my cleaner shrimp away!!
