this stuff is driving me nuts.i take out the rock with the polyps on it and put it in saltwater and pick off as much as i can .it grows back fast.i forget what eats it?i also have some green algea looking hair stuff on a big rock it isnt algea but looks like 2 inch long growing fine grass.any idea what it is and how to get rid of it?all these years of this i havnt seen this stuff .it keeps growing but not spreading like hair algea does.

Emerald crabs supposedly eat bubble algae......as far as the green stringy stuff..you say it's not hair....can you post a picture??

i will try but my camera sucks.i have been picking off the grass but i have been out of town for over a week and sick since i got back so it has grown alot but it isnt spreading all over the tank like algea does just a grassy knowl weird

wow it worked also what the hell is this plant looking thing in my tank?it was only 3 inches big a yeart ago and now i have to keep pulling it out and throwing it into the garbage

Looks like Halimeda.....some people actually buy it...It can get invasive though.....google it, there is lots of info on it
 
The other looks like some nice bushy hair algae.....pick it out with your fingers best you can, and get some turbos....and an emerald crab

the hair is weird though i have picked it clean befor but it isnt like the hair algea i have had before.as for the plant is it good or bad?i can pluck it out but i figured it might eat up phosphates but since there is hair algea i guess not.i dont like it.i put some in my 250 gallon without the mh bulbs on and it died fast.

Well you can pick Hair algae out all you want. but until you eradicate the problem...it WILL keep coming back
