I have a 55 tank with what I believe is bubble algae growing on rocks, pumps, heater ect. I is a green pea sized ball that groups up to form large colonies, one falls off and relocates elsewhere. I don't want it around what can I do? Hawk

First of all: you can pick it off manually. Get some fish-safe tweezers and prune, careful not to pop the bubbles. Some say that mithrax crabs will eat them, but it seems pretty hit or miss to me. You can pull a rock out, prune it out of the water, and put it back. Same with pumps and heaters.

after i picked all mine off and washed all the juice (spores) off.... I got some emerald hermit crabs for the smaller bubbles i couldn't see or get... It works for some and not for others but they always work for me.... Ohh and take the piece you are cleaning outta the water and put it in a bowl when taking the bubble algea off

I did as suggested it wasn't fun and easy I'll tell you. I removed a lot of rocks and scrubbed with toothbrush rocks fellwhen moved which made a big mess, a lot of the rocks couldn"t be easily moved so I had to pull off with my fingers and a lot got away form me , I netted all I found but I am sure there is some hiding in reserve, but it look great now. If anybody knows of a way to remove bubble from bottom rocks without having to remove them I'm all ears, again thanks to all Hawk
