I am using REAL sea water pumped RIGHT from out side my door.
Acclimation was first a temperature acclimation for 30 minutes followed by drip acclimation for 2 hours.
Are you saying that you are using ocean water for your tank? If you are this is a red flag. Ocean water is a big nono as there are too many contaminants in it for a closed aquarium. Also, how are you checking your salinity? If it is really 35% then it is too high. It shouldn't be more then 33.7% which equals 1.025 SG. See attached Salinity chart.

35ppt is not to high. As for fresh ocean water, if taken far enough & deep enough offshore, its great for the tank. My fish and corals thrive in my tank, and Ive been using it for 6+ years. Sorry to hear about your bubble, but sometimes poop can happen.

ya 35 is fine and so is real sea water, all our tanks are fine for sea water. we get it off the bodega coast from deep pumped up.
