I had a nice size bubble coral that i had under some PC's for about 2 months and now i have gotten 250 watt metal halides on my tank they have been on for almost 2 weeks now does anyone have any suggestions on how get the coral to return the size it was before it spent the time under PC's I know it will get back there with time but i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with speeding the process up
i also direct feed baby brine 2 a week and phyto feast into the tank everyday

scrap feeding it brine, its like feeding it air bubbles(useless), try Mysis, cyclops, or any thing small and meaty.

You should have acclimated him to the light. Put him in a shady area and only put him in the light for a few hours a day at most at first, then gradually longer. You risk burning him, which is bad.

well i don't think feeding it will make much difference. The thing is that he might not like the strong lighting as much as what you used to have..maybe if you move the bubble to a little lower spot or just give it some more time to adjust..btw i agree brine is worthlesss(nutricional wise) but great in flavor..like eating cotton candy.

Moving it down won't help, he's got MH, so the intensity is still very strong. I'd go for a shady spot, but yes, the lighting change is the problem. He needs acclimated to it else you can burn him.

thank you for the advise my lfs said that brine was what to give them plus that is what they had been direct feeding it in the store but yeah i will try the new food and the shaded spot
but also this morning when i woke up and the lights were on he was the biggest he had been in days and looked great so hopefully he is slowly getting used to the new lights

No, shaded areas mean areas without as much light, regardless of the level in the tank. Put him in a corner and place a book over top of the tank to block the light. Shade has nothing to do with height, I could shade from the bottom if that's where the light source was.

Well, he'll get used to them during the day, he's ballooning up at night apparently. YOu could place some screen over top of the tank, like about ten layers or so, then every day or so remove one layer of the screen which will gradually increase the light he receives. I've used that trick a few times to acclimate.
