bubble outbreak

I just noticed a bunch of bubbles floating around in my DT, so I started checking all my plumbing to the sump and everything looks secure.
I then notice that they are most likely coming from the bioball section of my sump.
I just added some new LR last evening. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Do you have a skimmer?
the reason I dont have a skimmer, is that i've been told I dont need it until I start adding livestock...
this new LR I got yesterday has some corals on it.

You said you have live rock with some corals on it and corals are livestock. A SKimmer will help keep Nitrates low and in addition to keeping the water of better quality for fish and inverts, it also helps reduce nuisance algae and cyanobacteria growth. :)

Don't panic. A little bubble algae sometimes occurs in new tanks. I had some in mine and it went away within a week or so. (Actually I thought it was pretty with the lunar lights on it since I had NOTHING except bare rock to look at
)
You don't have to have a skimmer. But you do have to be patient with the live rock and sand- give them some time.
