bubble tip anemone lighting question

I recently bought this bubble tip anemone and it has strange reaction to the light or may it is normal.
What happen is when my light is on, the anemone seems to shrink although you can see the glow on the tips. When the light is off (at night), it seems to expand itself bigger but no glow.
From what I read, anemone is supposed to like strong light and I have 260W for my 70 G tank. How come mine seems shy to light? Or is this a normal reaction? If not, what may be wrong? Thanks.

is it bleached like mine?

Mine is hiding under a rock and it peaks out during the day now, but when i first got it, it just hid under the rock all the time. I bought it bleached, but it is slowly regaining its zooanthelle.

Mine still has the green when the light is on but it's shrinking .. like it is afraid of the light or something .. however, at night when it's dark, it seems to buble up but the green is not glowing more like ivory color .. I know it suppose to move until it finds the comfort location, but it won't move and it is sticking to the live rock ... just the reaction to the light puzzle me.

I will try tot ake a picture at night while it bloom. I appreciate any input & Thanks.

I would just give it more time. Mine took a week to finally find it''s place. Durring the time it was wondering around it seemed to hide like yours.

I paid a fortune for my bubble tip because when I dought it it was the size of a basketball no joke..it got to my tank hid, shrunk and is loosing color. I've been feeding it whole cubes of Mysis as they said to feed it well, maybe it's the food. Only opens up a night but still sooo much smaller that at the LPS..Guess I got ripped off and my clowns are so sad

it needs some time to adjust to your light.
don't mess with it and let it finds its own spot.
the more you try to move the anemones, the more stress they get, the longer they anchor and thrive.
feed it every 3 days with mysis or small piece of raw shrimp.

it's getting there. Don't worry to much about it.
very soon, it will extend the base and tilt the head up to where the light is.
You will love it.
A friend of mine has a bta that anchored like yours and stretched the foot out to bring the head to catch MHs, that is really cool.

We have the same problem sort of .. your picture looks like mine before it bleeched and give its fight ..not to scare you or anything and yes, it is sad .. but mine is dead after rooming around my 70G tank in about 2 weeks .. I have no idea why .. but lesson learned that BTA behavior especially if their tentacles do not bloom, it is not a good sign.
