you either have some crazy green light in your tank or its a bad attempt at photoshop. Your rocks match your BTA

yeah thats under 420 nm 96W PC lights at night. No photo shop. I thought it was crazy looking when i got home. so i took the pic.

it was suppost to be a green tip. It was bleach white when i got and the lsf said it a green tip bta. I only paid $30 for it.

Just to clear it up a bit... The first one looks like a bleached bta hence the green color. Its being flouresced by the actinic lighting and shows that color. The second one looks like an LTA, but it could be a BTA the purple on the tips is throwing me off. In any case if your anem was pure white when you got it, then it is bleached and needs TLC and a lot of lighting.

I think perfect may have helped clear that up. The purple tips was making me think it was a LTA and not a BTA. Hmmmm

its a bta. i have lots of pics of it bubbled up. Some times they lose there bubble effect. just to some searchs on the Clownfish & Anemones. I have 10 pics of it bubbled up. Also do LTA bubble up ???

No not typically...

did you check out your post from the link i put up? This is what you in a post perfect to another person...
"It is fine BTA's can either bubble or not Bubble. Some do when they eat or after they eat. Some even only bubble half of their body. There is no set way shape or form with BTA's as far as bubbling tenticles go. Some do some never do and either one to date isnt a sign of an unhealthy anenome. You IMO have a text book looking BTA.. people strive to get ones that do just what yours is doing.

Indeed I was not as experienced with the bleaching effect of an anemone at that time. Literature and research has taught me how to further identify specimines that are not up to "par".
The concern I have is that the first and the 2nd pic do not look like the same species of anem's. The reason is that the tenticles are long which is not uncommon for a bta and the purple on the tips. However looking closer to a bleached BTA I have to say the 2 pictures are of the same animal and it is still bleached... as confirmed by you when you said that it was white when you got it. Zooxanthellea is brown in color, BTA's scientific name is Entacmaea quadricolor, meaning 4 colors. In reality there are many different shades these animals are found in. However they are primarily based off of the popular rose bubble tip, and variations are orange to pink. The other is a normal brown color with a hue of green primaily flouresced by actinic lighting.

It wasnt the lack of bubbles that was throwing me it was the combination of the lack of bubbles the purple tips and the darker foot in the second pic. All are very common attributes to a bleached LTA... However as I stated above I retract that comment and I do believe that they are both of the same. And still I stand by the fact it is bleached. No need to get flamed, my only purpose is to help with any confusion.

it has the brownish effect now but its hidding now since i just upgraded from PC to Mh lighting system. Those pic where taken over 3 months ago.
