Bubbles Bubbles

Quick question.
I have 1 small limestone putting out a small stream of fine bubbles in my tank. Once in a while, either my kids will mess with the adjustment, or the adjustments gets a little loose and bubbles get out of hand.
My questions are: At what point can you have too many bubbles circulating? Are there any adverse effects on LR, Inverts, fish?
Thanks :)

Bubbles can find there way into the sensitive gill structure of the fish causing problems.

As bubbles break on the surface of the water they expel salt to the surrounding surfaces.....this is called "salt creep". Salt creep is a mess to clean, can stain or discolor glass, corrode some metals, interfere with lighting intensity, and if you lose enough salt without adding some back into the tank, of course, your specific gravity can be effected which can have a disastrous effect on all creatures in your system.
In addition to what Thomas said about bubbles in fish gills, bubbles can also get under the tissue of corals causing serious problems.
In my experience bubbles and salt water don't mix. If it was my tank I would get rid of your air stone.

Thanks for the advice. As I said, i've only had a small stream of bubbles flowing, so hopefully nothing bad has been going on. As far as the salt creep... yea, I see alot under my hood lately. I'm going to pull the stone out today. Thanks all.

I am also having a problem with bubbles. Have thousands of tiny bubbles circulating in the tank. Is this a bad thing?

I turned the skimmer off last night. That helped but there are still too many bubbles. I blocked the airtube to the pump, too. Next I'll try a sponge where the waterfall is and hope that helps. Any more suggestions?
Thanks

I HAD a wood airstone streaming a small stream of bubbles into the tank. I took it out the same night I posted this topic. The rest of my bubbles come from my skimmer just picking up bubbles and spitting them into the tank. They are very minimal now.
