buffering raises and maintains chemistries in your tank such as calcium, alkalinity, and pH as well as others.

I've never experienced a ph problem in my tank. But I have read here that adding buffer is more of a quick fix/band-aid than a cure for the underlying problem. I would try a few searches on the ph subject before adding buffer.

buffering is for your alkalinity, that is your waters ability to resist swings in ph it is very important and should be done weekly

I only find the need to buffer my Ph when performing Hyposalinity. Other than that a good aragonite sand bed should keep the level buffered. THe Ph of a tank will change when the lights go off so if you run a sump a good idea is to keep your sump lights off while your display is on and vice versa.

While I do agree with what you are saying, I disagree that an aragonite sand bed will keep your levels buffered. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but aragonite does nothing to buffer a tank until pH drops to below 7. This is the principle behind a calcium reactor.
