ok, i got home late last night and decided to check on my tank. i turned on the room lighting and took a look, when i noticed tiny "bugs" running around on my LR. they appered to be about 1/16 to 1/8 in length and kind of gray in color. it looked like they had many legs but i could be wrong. they didnt give me very long to check them out. they were heading for cover quickly. anyone know what these might be? and should i be worried? if so how can i get rid of them.

They're probably pods ... Good to have, and a sign of a healthy tank. :D
Use a flashlight with a red lens and shine it in there at night ... you'll be amazed at how many of these you have.

how long does it take for these to appear?
i've had my tank set up with LR and LS since wednesday... should I also be noticing these?

Took about 2 months before I started seeing them in my tank. It's been 5 months now and my tank is swarming with them. The little aquaclear filter I use to run my carbon acts like a mini-fuge and is always full of them. When I change my carbon I shake the sock in the main tank and its a pod storm.

cool i was hoping that is what they were. i just had never seen them then all of the sudden boom. my tank is about 4 months old by the way. i wish i could make my sump into a fuge but i dont think it is big enough. it is already cramped with the rio pump, heater and the polishing sponge. anyone know of a cheap way to make a fuge? i would love to have a mandarin goby but i dont want to starve the poor thing like it sounds like alot of people do.
