Bugs on the LR

I went in with the flashlight tonight and looked at my tank....I have hundreds and hundreds of bugs on the glass and live rock. I don't notice any on the front glass and not alot on the sides, but the back glass has lots of them....nothing compared to the live rock though....they are everywhere. My tank is about 5 months old, it is a 125gal with a 22gal sump and a 7 gallon fuge.....I was growing some caulerpa in the fuge but it died off a few weeks ago.....I do not notice any of these bugs in the sump or fuge, just in the display. I have 150 lbs of Bali live rock. The fish are 3 purple tangs, 1 regal tang, and 1 Watchman goby.....along with 3 cleaner shrimp, 4 peppermint shrimp, about 100 snails, and about 25 crabs.
I don't notice these bugs in the daytime......they range in size from 1 1/2 grain of rice to a half grain of rice, only not quite as wide....they are creamy white and have 2 long antennae....they move pretty quick and sometimes their "tail" will curl inward when they stop moving.
I looked around for good pictures of pods but didn't find any good ones......the bugs don't seem to be on the fish, just the glass and especially the live rock.
Are these pods?
Thanks!

Not to show my complete ignorance, but are there good and bad pods? Also, would the fact that they seem to really come out at night tell me if they are pods or mysis?

It really looks strange in the tank.....I guess most people are just conditioned to think that "bugs" that crawl around on things are mostly bad :D

OK, well, I'll chill out now
I wonder if my tank would now support a Mandarin Goby...
Thanks for the info!

If you are thinking of a mandarin goby I would give the tank a few more months. Every thing else sounds good, I would just let the tank mature a little bit longer. I have read its better for the tank to at least 6 months old, so I would just wait a little bit longer. . . .pods are always good, unless they are sea lice. I currently have no fish in my 10g reef, so pods tottaly over run it, they are on all sides of the tank. . . they are everywhere!

Oh no!
You are suggesting that I be patient and wait awhile?:nervous: Just kidding....I have noticed that with a saltwater tank, the only things that happen quickly are not usually good things....
Do pods only come out at night? I don't notice them during the day but I'll take a closer look this evening.

I see mine all day long, it doesnt phase them that the lights are on. I think they are just a little more active at night though. You will prob. see really really small ones, ones that are almost hard to see they are so small. The biger ones are like the size of fleas you find on dogs an cats.

Alot of the ones I saw last night were much longer than a dog flea....a few of them were almost 1/2" though most were about 1/4"....they are fairly slender with antennae.....the curling of their bottoms was strange....do you think maybe I have a ton of shrimp instead of pods?
