Building another sump, so can I use

plexiglass for the baffles while I use an all glass tank for the basin. I think I remember people saying that you cant mix the materials but other than the bonding issues which I think I can get around does anyone know of any other issues which I should consider while making this ? Thanks Peter

It can be done. I bought a used 55 gallon sump in which the previous owner siliconed plexiglass baffles into a glass tank. I was weary of it, but a water test showed me that the baffles will hold. The silicone doesn't bond well with the plexiglass, so it more or less serves as a groove to hold the baffles in place.

Go to Home Depot ang the glue called MARINE GOOP, this glue works great, i built my refugium from scratch and used this glue, heat it up with a hair dryer and it seals fast.

jjust sand the

[hr]
out of the plexy and it will glue to anything.
