How far should I place the lights away from the water?

What kind of lighting system do you have. MH need to be 12" above the water and VHO like 2-3" above the water. It is also a good idea to have a fan!

I have PC's about 210w on a 55gal tank.

How is the temp in the tank. Where are the pc's located, on top of the tank?

It's sitting on top of the plastic cover that came w/ the tank years ago. The temp is 82 right now. I'm going to put a fan in the canopy and hopefully bring the temp down to 78.

If you do put the fan in it will bring down the temp. Are you going to mount the pc's in your canopy?
