the 29 I am picking up in a couple days is running a 65w dual actinic bulb, should I switch it to a 50/50 for the corals I want (zoas)?

What kind of lighting fixture is it, Brand I am talking about? I just want to see what your options might be for bulbs!~

What is the current owner keeping in the tank?
Your bulb is going to look something like this...

+1 Spanko I was thinking the same thing I was just doing some research on it and I also think that would be the best for what he is looking for.. I am by far no expert on SWF but I will do research if I have too lol...

I would go with the 10,000K / 420nm bulb. The color will be a little more violet that it will with the 10k / 460nm but the 420nm is a little better for growth as far as the actinic range is concerned.

I actually prefer the 420nm to the 460nm actinics. They make certain colors pop a little more. My last setup had one 460nm and one 420nm and two 10ks and that was a pretty good setup as well. But my feeling is that with PC lighting not being that strong, the extra addition of the 420nm benefitting the coral, even if only a little, is worth it.

Sorry that I havn't posted n this thread recently, I forgot I had asked anything. The guy who has the tank right now has curently just a FOWLR setup. As for the current bulb he is running a 420/460nm dual actinic square pin bulb. There is very minimal selections atthe LFS as all they have for my application is 50/50 10000k/460nm I believe...could be wrong. I will probably go with that until I can order a 10000k/420nm which wont be for a few weeks.
