Currently have 2x250w 10k bulbs, was wanting to swap to 20k for the color difference, but I was told growth would be cut in half if I did this. Any suggestions / pictures with different bulbs? Is 14k the best option for both?
If you want to see some side by side comparison, here is a chart that lets you click on the left side or ride side of the tanks and change the Kelvin. It gives you different brands and kelvins. http://****

I love the Hamilton 14k! That's what I was planning on getting too!
I just recently changed from Coralife 10k's to the new XM 15k's. You will definitly notice the change in color of your tank to a much more blue tint. It really makes the colors in your tank stand out altough I've read it's going to slow down the rate of my growth. Sounds as though 14-15K is a good compromise for growth/color and I'm really happy so far with the change. We'll have to see about the growth rates. Rich
I will take some pictures of my newly lit tank when I get home from work tomorrow and you can compare the two colors.

I went from 10K to 20K, it was way to blue for my personal taste. After having the 20K for 6 months I went to 14K. I like the 14K the best. You will have to judge for yourself on likes.
