Bulb tip anemone reef safe?

Hey everyone,
i was just curious as to if a bulb tip anemone was reef safe? Does anyone have any experience with these guys and will they move around if they find a spot the like? I have a 490 gallon and there arent very many corals so i was thinking if i added it now and it found a spot it liked i could work corals around it? And can i see some pics of your guys bulb tips.

No need to whip out the sarcasm on a new member man. Some anenomes irritate corals with their stingers. But yes, bubbletip is reef safe.

Yep, the little bubble tip is reef safe, all anemones are reef safe. As for the little guy staying put. They will find a spot and if they like it they will stay. But in a week, month or a few months they may decide they don't like it there any more and they will move. They like to plant them selves in rock creves, and they like a pretty good flow. Once they get going, they will split, and split for you. before you know it you will end up with 5 or 6. Just when you add corals around them try to give them at least an 8in space so they don't bother each other. I haven't had my bubble tip hurt any of my corals. For the most part if they are bothered too much they just move around til they find some other place they like.

They can definately annoy and kill coral if left unattended to. If they are attached to a rock and touching a coral it will cause the coral to retract and potentialy die because of it. Move the anenome by moving the rock around or what ever.
As far as moving around...mine has been in the same spot for over 1 year. It did however move around quite a bit at first, had to save a few coral until it found the right spot.

I love your avatar, at first I thought is was a picture you came across on the net. But I see that you have that in your tank. It is absolutely beautiful. How long have you had him. and how is he doing. I don't usally see those guys that often.

Anemones are not really considered "reef safe" in my opinion. If they move, which they can decide to do at any time, their stings can be damaging.

Thanks mandarin, don't want to hijack Frank2005 thread so I'll make it short. My fox coral is going on 5 years old. It was my very first coral, and has survived all of the mistakes of a newbie. :happyfish
