You mentioned this in another post and I was wondering why this is ?

Because they will prey on other inhabitants of a reef tank.

Nothing against SWF. c o m, I have been happy with the products that I have bought here. BUT, I have noticed that they sell a few things such as the sallylightfoot crab, and say that they are reef safe, where the mainstream in this hobby sais they are not. I would suggest reasearching ANYTHING you put in your tank.

I would agree that SWF things that traditionalists don't recommend for a reef. However, after ordering several packages over the past couple of years, the characters that necessarily aren't reef safe(Arrow Crabs and Sally's) serve a purpose in nature.
What I have done is to use the "package" to perform the task, thoroughly clean the tank, then negotiate with my LFS on other items that I get locally.
Just my thougths.
